In addition to weekly lessons in your School, we also offer a Platinum Package for pupils of any standard, these lessons provide a comprehensive music offer for our young musicians. This programme is especially beneficial to those children studying for higher grades and who may be keen to take up music in Higher or Further Education.

Saturday Music School
Bolton Music Service is delighted to now be able to offer piano, guitar, banjo and ukulele lessons at our Saturday Morning Music School which is available for both children and adults. An individual half hour lesson every week, 34 lessons per year during term time. The cost of these lessons is £60 per month over 9 months, payable by direct debit. First Steps in Music
This unique educational aid for beginners will guide you step by step on your way to taking your first graded exam. This booklet highlights each step with useful tips for both the pupils and parents to help in completing them and helps you keep track of which step you are on. You will receive a “Golden Ticket” along the way and a certificate to prove that you have completed the “First Steps” journey. This aid is supported in your music lesson by Bolton Music Service Teachers, alongside it, there is a practice diary for the teacher to set weekly tasks and for the pupil and parent to keep a record of the days they have practised.

Ensembles in Bolton and Blackburn with Darwen
Bolton Music Service has an enviable range of ensembles for you to join across seven main departments. These ensembles rehearse weekly, during school term time, and perform in a wide range of concerts and events in local, regional and national venues.
Many of the ensembles are graded from Beginner, Junior, Intermediate and Youth levels. Children can progress through, starting in the Beginner level or you can join the structure at any point. membership of the Youth (advanced) ensembles is usually by audition.

Our Regional Ensembles
Our ever increasing range of GM music ensembles are catering for our most advanced students and challenging them to achieve their very best. Many of these students are moving on to music in higher education with a promising career in music ahead of them. It is only through sharing talent and resources that the Music Services in the GM Hub and their partners can work together to provide these special opportunities.
